What makes pinwheels move?
I wonder how pinwheels remind us of God? I wonder if pinwheels can help us focus our prayer?
Jesus tells us the Holy Spirit is like wind; that it moves above us, below us, and all around us.
The Holy Spirit is like our breath; we can be filled with the Holy Spirit in the same way our lungs can be filled with breath. The Holy Spirit hears our prayers.
Give everyone in your family a pinwheel. Think of something you’re thankful for. Say it out loud, then your family will respond, “We thank you, God,” and blow the pinwheels. This will remind us how the Holy Spirit hears our prayers.
Now, think of things you want to talk to God about. Do you know someone who is sick or hurting? Do you know someone who is lonely or needs God’s help? Say your prayer aloud, then your family will respond, “Lord, hear our prayer,” and blow the pinwheels.
We thank you, God.
