Canterbury Bells is the adult handbell ensemble of Heavenly Rest. The bells ring at least once a month, as well as special services such as Lessons and Carols.
Teaching basic handbell ringing to middle school students. Ringers in this ensemble participate in liturgy at least once a semester and for special occasions.
The adult choir is the primary music leader for the 10:30 a.m. liturgy in addition to any musical services throughout the year such as Evensong and Compline. Music literacy, church music history, liturgics, and community building are meshed into every rehearsal. This choir also sings for at least one special liturgy each semester, i.e. a Requiem, Festival Eucharist, Lessons and Carols, or a Passion.
The Children’s choir provides a solid choral experience for students. Choristers are taught liturgics as well as music literacy and church music history.
The Heavenly Rest Chamber Music Concert Series provides the Abilene Community with free classical music concerts.
