Luke Mendez joined the staff at Heavenly Rest in August of 2023 and is currently serving as the Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Ministries, focusing on their spiritual formation and care. Luke is a native of the area and is pursuing a degree in Christian Ministry at McMurry University, expecting to graduate in December 2024. Before joining Heavenly Rest as a parishioner in September 2021, he served as a Youth Pastor in the Southern Baptist tradition. Beyond the walls of the church and academic pursuits, Luke's heart filled with joy and gratitude for his life with his fiancé, Cole. They find their happiness in the simple pleasures of spending time with friends and tending to their jungle of plants at home.
