After his retirement as Head of the Psychology Department for Hardin Simmons University, Doug Thomas attended the Diocese School of Ordained Ministry for three years. Upon completion of his studies he was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, June 2016.
Doug served as an Assisting Priest at Heavenly Rest until the Bishop appointed him to the position of Vicar at Trinity Episcopal in Albany, Texas. As a small Mission, Trinity conducts Sunday services two times a month, so, when not at Trinity, Doug continues to serve at Heavenly Rest as needed. Doug loves theology, preaching, teaching, and celebrating the Eucharist. He is married to Deanna and they have an adult son.
