Youth, Grades 6-12

The Heavenly Rest Acolyte Program offers students in grades 6 through 12 the opportunity to serve throughout the year. Acolytes play a meaningful role alongside clergy and lay ministers supporting the liturgy. You will see them participating in processions with torches and crosses, but their responsibilities extend further, assisting with Eucharist preparation, the washing of the Celebrant’s hands, and supporting the Deacon during the service. As students grow and gain experience, they take on new roles, beginning as torchbearers and eventually leading as senior servers.

We have about twenty students serving as acolytes with about half serving on a regular basis.
