Thrift House

The Thrift House is the oldest ministry created by Heavenly Rest. It was started 75 years ago with the encouragement of Parson Gerhart. He believed that selling a piece of clothing at an extremely modest price allowed an individual to maintain dignity and encourage self-respect.

Today, the Thrift House continues to serve this population and individuals who enjoy thrift shopping.  In addition to men’s and women’s clothing, the Thrift House offers kitchen items, home décor, linens, costume jewelry, purses and many other goods.

The Thrift House has been located at 761 Walnut since its doors first opened. Store hours are Tuesday – Friday from 9:30 am – 4:30 p.m.  Over the years, it has become a welcoming place to all who walk through its doors - place of peace and love.

Donations are accepted at any time. Items may be placed on consignment, but an appointment must be made by calling 325-672-3812.
