About the Event
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, the season of Lent is a time when the Church calls her members to penitence and renewal. Though it is a time to ponder our sinful nature, it is also, more importantly, a time to acknowledge that Christ died for us “while we were yet sinners.” Lent, in other words, is an opportunity to open ourselves to God’s redeeming work in the person of Jesus Christ. There will be many opportunities to reflect on this mystery during the season of Lent at Heavenly Rest, and you are invited to make our Lenten programming part of your experience of this holy season. There will be four services for Ash Wednesday on February 26. Imposition of ashes will be at 8:00 am in the All Saints’ Chapel, and at 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Nave. There will also be a children’s service at 5:30 pm in Gerhart Hall.
