Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest
New Member Formation

The Church of the Heavenly Rest offers New Member Formation (NMF) to anyone seeking God, desiring to grow in the Christian faith and wishing to participate more deeply in this beautiful faith tradition. We are open to everyone whether you are brand new to church or you are a long-time member. This is a “come and explore” opportunity, and there is no obligation placed upon those who attend. At the conclusion of the NMF you may wish to be confirmed, baptized, received or reaffirmed in the church.

  • Help all seekers discover and grow into their spiritual birthright as children of God, made in the Divine image, endowed with spiritual treasure and invited to journey on the sacred way of life the Christian faith offers.
  • Challenge each person to use their spiritual foundation to build a more productive and loving life, finding ways of serving others in need and working together to promote justice and peace in society.
  • Encourage everyone to be shaped by the Gospel and embody Jesus Christ through weekly worship, sacramental living, and regular class attendance.
  • Connect with one another and creating meaningful relationships through thoughtful conversation and warm fellowship.

Attend classes regularly on Sundays from 9:00 - 10:15 am in Gerhart Hall beginning September 17th. Breakfast will be served, and childcare is provided.  Our class will conclude when the Right Reverend J. Scott Mayer joins us on Wednesday evening, January 10th for confirmation, baptism, reception, and reaffirmation.
